WHY ?
The founders of "La Parole Libérée" have all been members of St. Luke Scouts Group (GSL) of the parish of Sainte Foy-lès-Lyon between the early 80s and  90s. For some, the GSL accompanied them in this wonderful but also delicate transition period between childhood, adolescence and adulthood. All, whatever their confession of the time and their relationship to"religious matters" today, tried, during their years of Scouting and beyond, to respect the values carried by this movement and summarized by their Scout Promise Many have, for years, continued to share, during their meetings, memories built throughout?their years of scouting. If they have? not all been subjected to pedophilia by the priest who led the GSL, all can be considered victims of his actions. Although it is not a question of comparing the trauma associated with different meanings covered by the term victim.Victim, the one who has suffered sexual abuse once or repeatedly.Victim, the one who has been molested.
Victim, the one who feels soiled or betrayed by the fact that within the GSL he frequented, such actions could take place.Victim, the one who feels guilty for not having seen anything, not having been able to interpret certain signs through his children's eyes.Victim, the one who in his revelations, was faced with the incomprehension of the family circle and experienced isolation.Victim, the families who have faced one of the questionable and hidden realities of the GSL. However, the approach has led some to report to judicial authorities the acts of which they were victims, and that along with the creation of the association and its site, this approach, therefore, is not dictated by hatred. But simply by the fierce desire of these children become men, family fathers, members of the city, to contribute to justice. Justice of men but also of the Church. For many years, with rare exceptions, the victims' silence prevailed. Some of them spoke in the family circle and were sometimes heard. This listening has taken various forms. Removing from the GSL, interview with the offending priest, mail to religious authorities, sometimes, alas! disbelief and denial. For many, it took the action of François Devaux and its media coverage for the repressed memories to become verb and for them to finally liberate their speech.Indeed, in the opinion of a psychologist victimology, some victims of pedophilia are reconstructing themselves with such defenses and have repressed such traumatic things that they were long reluctant to make the move to testify, to report, for fear to see the collapse of all they had concocted to grow upon. For the majority of the described facts, unfortunately, judicial prescription applies. However, besides the fact that depositions in front of kind and listening personal relieve the victims, they also feed a record file that gets thicker day by day. The testimonials that you can read on our site ( "Testimonials" tab) are disturbing and are chilling. Father Bernard seems to have used his dual status of Scout leader and man of the Church to act. A man with whom the family of some of his victims had established close ties as he was invited to their table in a more or less regular way, and he also received donations "for all the good things he did for the children of the Saint-Luc Group. " These testimonies also question the role of adults participating in the stewardship of the GSL. How to explain in front of these testimonies and the frequency of certain acts revealed today that no one has ever seen, that no one has ever had any doubt and that even today, with supporting evidence (see "Confessions"), some continue to be in denial? This certainly sheds light on the aura and charisma of this priest who has been able, in each place where he acted, to seduce adults. Some testimonies thus show that the priest has not only perpetrated at GSL. This was also clearly the case when he was chaplain of the school of La Favorite. Our association also intends to bring forward the speech of these victims. What can be said of the role played by the religious authorities, informed by some parents as early as 1990? Yes, what about "disciplinary" actions taken against the priest that were limited to his shifting three times, without regard to ensure that he was no longer in contact with children until the end of his ministry? Is this lightness? Is it due to disbelief? Is it complicity? It is not for us to judge, but we hope that other, more legitimate, workers of secular justice as well as spiritual justice, will be able to do it. On our part, we believe that acting is helping the Church. In this context, reading the priest's mails is also instructive (see "The Confessions"). It provides information regarding the smallness of his soul, more concerned with saving face than apologize and agree to pay for his actions, even  when it meant having to undergo public disgrace, which, without being an excuse, would at less give a sign that he was aware of the suffering he had caused. The sign of a minimum of dignity and humanity. These are all elements that led us to create "La Parole Libérée” - “Relief Association Alumni Group Saint-Luc Victims of Pedophilia". Behind this name and this item, we must read, you will understand, "Victims of the priest, leader of the Scout Movement Saint-Luc." This therefore includes acts that could have been committed by the same individual outside the movement he created. So as not to prejudice the Group Saint- Luc of today, which is affiliated with the Boy Scouts of Europe, we are taking the precaution to specify "from 1970 to 1991". Because we do not want to imply that such activities continue today. Pedophilia being consubstantial neither of scouting nor of the prelature. We hope that "La Parole Libérée" is a catalyst for the victims of this priest. Because it is obviously preferable to act as a determined group rather than taking isolated actions. We are in the process of structuring, certainly, but also hope to be able to help the victims to rebuild, to mitigate at least the cracks that can still be theirs.

An assistance that can take the form of listening, of a place of expression or of the help of specialists. In this, we only extend the ideals of Scouting - that was unfortunately undermined - through mutual-aid and solidarity principles.
